The Zeitschrift für Mittelmeerstudien (ZfM), as the publication organ of the ZMS, is not only the first Mediterranean Studies journal in the German-speaking world, it is also clearly distinguished from other journals in international Mediterranean Studies by the combination of the characteristics interdisciplinary, free access, trilingual, and open to young scholars. ZfM publishes the results of Mediterraneanist research from the spectrum of the humanities, cultural studies, and social sciences on all periods of Mediterraneanism in a timely manner and makes them openly accessible and extensively reusable as a Gold Open Access journal. ZfM is trilingual and includes German as a publication language in addition to English and French.
